In this course, we will cover the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard, including hazard classification, labeling, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), and employee training. By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of how to identify and manage chemical hazards in the workplace, helping to keep yourself and your coworkers safe.
Course Description
Hazard communication is a critical course that focuses on providing learners with essential knowledge and skills to ensure that they can effectively communicate the potential dangers associated with chemicals and other hazardous materials in the workplace. This course covers the fundamental principles of hazard communication, including the identification, labeling, and communication of hazardous chemicals.
The course covers the various aspects of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, including hazard identification, classification criteria, and the development of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). The learners will also gain knowledge on the types of hazards associated with different chemicals, such as physical, health, and environmental hazards, and how to control and mitigate them.
Through knowledge check questions, scenarios, and study material, the course emphasizes the importance of proper labeling and signage of hazardous materials, as well as the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous chemicals.
